Introduction to i-Series
 

i-Series PkMS®, recently renamed to i-Series WMS, is Manhattan Associates’ logistics and warehouse management package for the IBM i-Series platform using the i-Series integrated database. This is the first platform PkMS® was released on.

Mark Magic and PkMS®

MarkMagic is a software package developed by CYBRA corporation is integrated with PkMS®. MarkMagic was included in PkMS® from release 99R1. It is designed to simplify label creation. This will greatly reduce the time and effort required to create, change or upgrade clients' labels when retailers / transportation companies change their label requirements.  

 

Version Upgrades

If your company is planning to upgrade to a newer release of PkMS®, you may want to consider the following suggestions:

  • Analyze and document the current operation flow of your operations

  • What new functionality is offered in release you are upgrading to?

  • What is the Return On Investment (ROI) on the upgrade?

  • Is any new hardware required to support the new release?

  • Do you have custom modifications on your existing system? If so, what is the effort to migrate them to the new release?

  • Review current interfaces and determine any changes necessary for the new release.

  • Will user training be required for new functionallity on the new release?
